Prevalence and genotype distribution of hepatitis C virus in Mongolia: Systematic review and meta-analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
ObjectiveTo characterize hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection epidemiology in Mongolia.MethodPublications on HCV antibody (Ab) and RNA prevalence, and/or genotypes/subtypes were systematically reviewed reported following PRISMA guidelines. Random-effects meta-analyses age adjustments conducted to estimate the prevalence of Mongolians exposed (pooled HCV-Ab prevalence) by time period, sex, at-risk populations; chronically-infected individuals.ResultsThe national pooled was 12.3% 2000–2009 11.2% 2013. Sex-specific appeared higher among females than males (14.0% versus 6.8%). Age-specific significantly increased from 3.7% children (aged 0–10 years) 34.1% people aged ?50 years (p < 0.001). Among adult general population (low-risk population), age-adjusted 8.1%. Age-adjusted chronic adults 6.0%. healthcare workers, 18.0%. patients with liver diseases, 53.7%. individuals engaging risky sexual behaviors, 11.1%. The identified circulating 1b (58.0%), 2a (21.7%), 1a (20.2%).ConclusionThe Mongolia be highest worldwide. Higher clinical setting indicated potential ongoing iatrogenic occupational transmission. Additionally, transmission community settings should investigated.

conclusions our results showed that hcv genotype 4 is the most prevalent genotype in the middle east region. however, hcv genotype 1 is the most prevalent among non-arab countries in the region including turkey, iran, cyprus, and israel. context the hepatitis c virus (hcv) is classified into seven genotypes and more than 100 subtypes. the treatment regimen, duration and efficacy of hcv therapy ...
متن کاملPrevalence of Hepatitis C Virus Genotypes in Iranian Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONTEXT Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a global public health problem and a major etiology of chronic liver disease, which may develop into cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Genotypes of HCV indicate the route of acquisition, the clinical outcome, response to treatment, prognosis and control strategies. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to estimate the overall prevalence and trend of HCV...
متن کاملHepatitis C infection epidemiology in Mongolia: protocol of a systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Hepatitis C virus (HCV) morbidity appears to be high in Mongolia. Yet, the scale and nature of the infection burden is not well-understood. Our study's objective is to systematically review and synthetize all available epidemiological data on HCV antibody (Ab) prevalence, ribonucleic acid (RNA) prevalence, incidence, risk factors to HCV exposure, and circulating HCV genotypes/subtype...

context blastocystis hominis is a unicellular protozoan found commonly in the intestinal tract of humans and many other animals with multiple subtypes, which tend to be specific to the host. we aimed to apply a meta-analysis for studies of protozoan pathogens in order to obtain a general overview of the prevalence and genotype analysis of blastocystis spp. in iran. results we included 40 eligib...
